Bridal Veil Falls State Park (Bridal Veil OR)

The 140 foot high, 40 foot wide Bridal Veil Falls cascades down a cliff on the north side of Larch Mountain in giant steps. Water flow is significant throughout the entire year as is evidenced well before you can see it from the constant thunderous roar.

Bridal Veil Falls not only has two trails for viewing – one to view from above and one from below – it has its own state park complete with picnic tables and restrooms. No entrance or parking fee charged visitors. How’s that for hospitality?

The half-mile, paved upper trail doubles as a nature trail. The state has installed signs along the route to identify many of the native wild flora. They have even installed an attractive log fence to help ensure your safety.

The graveled lower trail, also short (about 0.7 mile round trip) is steep and, in places, slippery, and takes you to the base of the waterfall. Remember, going down may be easy but you do have to climb back up again.

How to get there:

From I-84 exit 28, take the old highway (now called the Historic Columbia River Highway) and head west (toward Portland) to the park entrance and parking area.
