Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
Munising MI
Munising Creek plunges 70 feet from a high cliff just before emptying into South Bay of Lake Superior. This unusually high waterfall ( for Michigan) was our favorite of all the Michigan waterfalls we visited and, probably, the easiest to find and view. Munising Falls is listed in many references as one of the seven “Notable Falls” of Michigan.
How to get to Munising Falls:
- From MI-28 in downtown Munising, drive east on E. Munising Ave to the split of Munising Ave and Washington Street (immediately after Lake Street).
- Bear left on Washington and continue to the visitors’ center of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (about 0.6 miles).
- Follow the signs from the Center to the waterfall.
